TOUR ITINERARY FOR 10 DAYS 9 NIGHTS .

Day 1: arrival at paro international airport,  Arrive in paro by (druk air): our guide will receive you from paro airport. The only international airport in the country. Enjoy the view and thrill while  landing between the Himalayas mountains . Drive to the hotel in Thimphu the capital of Bhutan and relax. Diner and overnight at hotel.

Day 2: Thimphu sightseeing.

Thimphu sightseeing include the following :

After breakfast you will be transfer to the following places and lunch will be served.

*visit memorial chorten (stupa).this stupa was built in the memory of our third king of Bhutan.

*After visiting memorial chorten our escort will take you to the largest tallest buddha statue in the world(hgt51m)with 169 feet. From buddha point you will see the magnificent view of the city. Below the buddha point there is a cycling trail if you want you can do a short hike to enjoy the nature with the good view of the city.

*National library: there are lots of Bhutanese scripts and also you can see the biggest book in the world.

LUNCH

*Handmade paper factory:

The jungshi handmade paper factory uses traditional methods to produce the authentic Bhutanese paper known as deh-sho. It is located approximately 1km from Thimphu city.bthe factory uses the bark of two tree species. The daphne tree and Dhekap tree in manufacture of traditional paper. Visitor can observe the entire process of producing handmade paper using the ancient traditional  methods that have been practiced for generations. You can even try your hand at this ancient craft and make some paper of your very own as a souvenir. Deh-sho paper was originally used by the monasteries for woodblocks and manuscript books and also for writing prayer books.

*Takin preservation center: The zoo contains the national animal of the country TAKIN with some species of deer and birds. After that you can drive to the highest view point sangaygang from their you can enjoy the good view of the town. Evening you can take a walk around the town area.

Day 3: Thimphu:

After breakfast royal botanical garden : located in babesa 10 km from hotel about 15 minutes drive depending upon the traffic . you can enjoy the beautiful nature and environment with different type of flowers and plants. You can check my favorite spot the great canopy and keep a mark on it. You can ask guide to show where is the canopy with the good views of mountains and the view of our next destination.

Visit the local holy temple Ngyzergang Gamchey located at the hill top.

LUNCH

– Visit changgangkha lhangkhang one of the holiest site in thimphu and relax around town area (clock tower). After 4:30 visit trashichhodzong is the seat of the king of Bhutan and also the seat of the supreme patriarch of Bhutan ( je khenpo rinpoche)overnight in the hotel.

Day 4  Drive to punakha: 

Early breakfast and proceed to Punakha via Dhochula pass 3100m and on the stop at Hongtsho village, stop at immigration check point to stamp in your visa . next to the check point you will find small local stall fresh juicy local apples available for sale in plastic bags you could try some .you will be driving through the first pass in western part of Bhutan. on the way visit druk wagyel chorten at dochula 108 stupa on the top of the pass where the ridges are draped in colorful prayer flags greet you . you can take three rounds and offer prayers, take some good photo shot if the weather is clear you will be able to see the highest peak towards the north, Gangkar Phusum among others is the highest unclimbed peak in the world (24000ft) , proceed down toward the punakha through thingleygang valley and upon reaching lobesa turn left and enter punakha valley, on the way have lunch at lobesa and take a hike to chimi Lhakhang (temple). This monastery is dedicated to lama Drukpa Kunley “divine madman” known for his outrageous behavior. It was built in 1499 by ngawang chogyal the 14th Drukpa hierarch. Many childless women visit this Lhakhang (temple ) and seek blessing for a child.

The existing footpath to chimi Lhakhang passes through beautiful terraces of paddy filed after crossing the paddy field you will will come across a lobesa village with lots of traditional houses. Lobesa village is situated in valley. Surrounded by the paddy field on the way to important Buddhist shrine “chimmi Lhakhang “  in punakha.       relex for sometime view high mountains, then drive further to punakha. Relax in the hotel and check the valley.

Day 5  Punakha- sightseeing :

visit punakha dzong (fort) was the second fort to be built in the country by zhabdrung rinpocheo. The dzong was built in 1638 and was completed in the following year. After that drive  khamsum heley namgyel chotern to see the beautiful views river and valley. On the way back do the river rafting.

Day 6 : 

check out and drive to phobijikha about four to five hour driven-route .At phobijikha Valley, visit Gangtey Monastry enjoys the vakkey’s prime real estate, on  forested hill overlooking the green expanse of the entire Phobjikha Valley. During a visit  to the Phobjikha valley, the 15th century treasure-finder Pema lingpa prophesied that a goemba named gang-teng(hilltop) would be built on this site and that his teachings would spread from here. Pema Thinley, the grandson and reincarnation of Pema Lingpa, built a Nyingma temple here in 1613. Bird watching: Black necked Cranes at information center of the Royal Society for Protection of Nature’s (RSPN), which has informative display about the black-naked cranes and the valley environment. You can use the Centre’s powerful spotting scopes and check what you see against its pamphlet Field Guide to Crane Behavior.

Day 7 :

drive to punakha and visit sangaychen Dorji Lhuendrubchholing Buddhist nunnery and drive to the longest suspension bridge in the country and after crossing you will come across beautiful village . drive around  relax and enjoy the stay.

Day 8 : drive to paro:

On the way visit the protected national park right after you cross Thinleygang village and after that directly move towards paro coming across Thimphu and Chuzom and reaching paro stop at town area and can check the handicraft items do some shopping according to interest . Overnight  hotel in Paro .

PARO MASK DANCE FESTIVAL Paro tshechu

Day 10 tiger nest   

Taktsang (tiger nest) fall in top 20 place to visit in the world. The place of religion and myth. The most famoulandmark. Taktsang monastery (tiger nest ) stand on a granite cliff about 1000m above the valley.

It is believed that guru Rinpoche, an famous Buddhist saint, flew to paro on a tigress and meditated at Taktsang. The monastery is considered a national treasure of Bhutan . the hike to Taktsang  will take us around 3 hours depending upon our walking speed. You can also take a horse ride till the cafeteria and till the cafeteria it will take us 2 and half hrs. a point where one can enjoy the great view of a monastery. Those interested can walk further 45 minutes uphill’s to get a closer view of the monastery.

Day 11 our escort will help you with exit formalities and then bid you farewell.
